Annual Awards and Family Dinner Recap
On Sunday, December 1st, we gathered for our Annual Awards and Family Dinner, a time to reflect on a year of incredible milestones and honor the remarkable contributions of our team.
Celebrating Life-Saving Heroism
Earlier this year, our department responded to a life-threatening emergency when a one-year-old child fell into a pool and drowned. Thanks to the swift action of the mother, who immediately began CPR, and the collaborative efforts of first responders from our team and partner agencies, the child received life-saving measures. He made a full recovery leaving the hospital one week later.
To recognize this outstanding effort, Lifesaver Awards were presented to our on-scene members by three esteemed organizations: the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the State EMS Commission, and the Perry Fire Department. Congratulations to:
- Brandon Wilson
- James DiMarco
- Steve Anderson
- Jerry Bulger
- Keith Kuester
- Frank Peterlin
- Carrie Weber
Your dedication and expertise saved a life and exemplified the very best of public service.
Honoring Years of Service
We also took time to celebrate members who have reached significant service milestones. Their dedication has shaped our department and community. Congratulations to:

A special thank-you to Eagle’s View Church for hosting us in their beautiful facility. The church members went above and beyond by providing delicious sides and desserts and assembling a team of volunteers who ensured everything ran smoothly. Also many thanks to Marx’s BBQ for providing chicken and pork BBQ along with dropping it off before our event!
Next up for more big thank-you’s is Black Township Fire Department for coming to cover runs while we had our Awards Dinner. While our people were ready if it was a bigger event, Chief Jay Price and his crew had our backs, and we appreciate that dearly.
And finally, thank you to Annie Harris for all her hard work in bringing together all the great prizes for this year’s dinner, along with her son Shane Harris for the photos.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate our achievements, we remain focused on serving and protecting our community in the year ahead. Thank you to everyone who makes our mission possible!
One word we used several times in the dinner, was “family” and how it’s an amazing experience to be part of such a caring group of people. If you would like to join our family, we would love to talk to you. Obviously, we are always looking for people interested in Fire/EMS services, but we also need people in support roles such as IT, grounds and vehicle maintenance, office work, and many other roles. If helping better your community is of interest to you, contact us or apply online!
